Project manager cards

Contract based on a 6-months mission (renewable) in Antananarivo, Madagascar                                                                                        
Background information and objectives of the mission
As part of the Access Microfinance Holding, AccèsBanque is a microfinance focused bank based in Antananarivo Madagascar. With 160 000 clients and 27 branches in the country, the bank has always balanced its social impact with its financial sustainability to contribute to the economic and social development of the country. In order to further leverage its financial inclusion footprint, the bank is now seeking a card project manager to introduce card solutions for its clients. This project is fully aligned with the bank’s strategy to bring affordable financial services that fit the needs of the unbanked.
The project manager is in charge of implementing card payment solutions both as an issuer and as an acquirer at AccèsBanque Madagascar. It will be his duty to develop a sustainable business plan and implement it within the bank. Hence, It will also be the project manager’s responsibility i) to shape the new delivery channel as a sustainable business ii) to create and lead a card unit within the bank iii) and to be the single point of contact for all card related topics; for other departments but also for external stakeholders.
The project manager will report to the senior management.
Main responsibilities :

  • Develop the project scope, the business/financial projections, the budget and the project KPIs.
  • Write the business and technical specifications to prepare for IT development.
  • Ensure the project is delivered in time within the scope and within the budgeted boundaries.
  • Report and escalate to management if needed.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive project documentation.
  • Develop and update a project plan to track the progress of project implementation.
  • Involve all relevant stakeholders within the bank (finance, accounting, risk, IT, etc.)
  • Negotiate contracts and term-sheets with third parties involved in the project.
  • Be the technical counterpart for the project for legal and regulatory aspects.
  • Evaluate and monitor the project risks in order to minimize them.

 
Profile:                                       

  • At least a bachelor degree in computer science, accounting, statistics, economics or other similar field of study.
  • Experience in monitoring and/or implementing payment card projects in the financial industry (or similar) is strongly desired.
  • Solid project management skills and knowledge of the agile scrum methodology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Result-oriented and a capacity to explain and summarize complicated topics.
  • Proficient in English, knowledge of French would be a plus.
  • Good leadership skills.
